Ride along with us to explore the magnificent Wanaka Lake and its hidden parts. We provide a wide range of tours and packages to explore Wanaka and create beautiful memories for life!
Mou Waho
Island
Of Lake Wanaka’s 5 islands Mou Waho Island is the most remote and most beautiful. With its steep rocky coastline, small secluded beaches, diverse birdlife, and a hidden lake (Arethusa pool) which sits atop the island.
Glendhu
Bay
Glendhu bay is the access point for the beautiful Mototapu Valley track, a 3-4 day hike. DOC huts provide shelter as you follow in the footsteps of the gold miners seeking their fortunes in the Otago hills.
Ruby
Island
Ruby Island is a small island close to the Wanaka township. Its garden-like setting and close proximity to the town attract kayakers and boaties to stroll around the island, swim off the beach, and enjoy BBQ.
West
Wanaka
Water Taxi transport to Minaret Burn and Rumbling Burn gives hikers and bikers access to the beautiful West Wanaka track. The large gravel beach at the mouth of the Minaret Burn allows for easy boat access.
Stevenson
Island
Tucked up in the sheltered waters of Stevenson’s arm Stevenson’s Island is flanked by Mt Gold(1304) Mount Burke(1417) and by the broad ridge of Stevenson’s Peninsula. It’s just so peaceful!
Biking
Adventures
Fishing, hiking, biking, or trail running. Wanaka Water Taxi services give you the opportunity to access many great locations around the lake, to get away from the crowds, and create your own adventure.
Roadmap To Adventure
Getting you off the beaten path
The large gravel beach at the mouth of the Minaret Burn allows for easy boat access. The track climbs steeply from here gaining a terrace high above the lake. Traversing across the face of the mountain with stunning views of Lake Wanaka and Mou Waho and Mou Tapu Islands. The track then descends to the lakeshore where easier terrain leads you along the lake where after a couple of stream crossings you arrive at homestead bay and the west Wanaka road. Finish here or carry on through Glendhu linking in the millennium track for a full day ride.
