Kapiti, named after the long and narrow island off New Zealand’s North Island, originally operated tour services to Kāpiti Island and later spent time ferrying passengers throughout the Marlborough Sounds. Fabricated in Havelock at the northern tip of the South Island, Kapiti has now been part of our fleet for nine years. The vessel accommodates up to 19 passengers.

Te Toa is a Māori name that roughly translates to a warrior, a champion, or someone who is brave and skilled. True to its name, Te Toa is a robust vessel fabricated by Osprey in Nelson and has been part of the Wānaka Water Taxi family for two years. Constructed with a durable alloy hull and designed for strength and stability, Te Toa can carry up to 18 passengers.

The newest addition to our fleet has arrived and is the second of our Ospreys. Maxi Taxi is an exact replica of Te Toa, distinguished only by a few different decals. Before joining us, the Maxi Taxi spent some time transporting passengers in Abel Tasman. As for the origin of its name, we have a few theories, but your guess is as good as ours. Maxi fits up to 18 passengers.
