Cancellation policy

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Trips cancelled at least 24 hours before departure get a full refund. No refunds when cancelling within 24 hours. (Exceptions apply depending on the nature of the reason).



When we cancel a trip due to weather, you have the option of rescheduling or a full refund.

High winds can stop us from going. In case it is raining or about to rain we can still go but we understand that you would prefer not to go when it is raining, therefore we give you the option of braving the weather or rescheduling/refund.



We have, and always will, refunded all our guests who were not able to come to Wanaka due to Covid-19.

We do ask you to cancel when you are feeling sick. You can do this anytime and receive a full refund. We do have immune compromised people in our Wanaka Water Taxi Family. (You do need to let us know though, no shows will not get a refund).

We are running our tours by the latest government Covid guidelines. 



Subject to availability, minimum of 4 people per trip.

1 kid per adult goes free on our Mou Waho Island trips.

West Wanaka Track bike drop offs are only possible when we have a Mou Waho Island Tour going.


Minimum Numbers

We need a minimum of 4 people on our Mou Waho Island Tour & Stevenson’s and Ruby Island trips. In case of a calm day, when we can take our smaller vessel.

All other trips and tours: a minimum of 2 people



We have 2 vessels:

Kapiti Explorer is an 8.5 meter vessel that can hold a max of 19 people.

Kiwi Explorer is an 6 meter vessel that can hold a max of 7 people.

Both vessels will be used on our tours.
